Policy for staff is that they also need to use the NHS App to prove covid free status and we will be re-checking those who need to re-test during their time on-site every 48 hrs
The policies have been developed in consultation with Public Health, Environmental Health, Licensing and organisers with learnings taken from other events including test events and government guidance followed (we are going behind what government guidance asks us to do as standard)
To reduce the risk of covid, campers will not be able to re-enter the event (so once they arrive they must stay on site until the end)
Other measures: Promoting testing before & after the event, Test & Trace posters, enhanced cleaning, free Lateral Flow Tests for people to take home with them, promoting ‘positive mask-wearing environment’ – we have engaged a dedicated covid compliance safety team to oversee this
Heavy comms campaign between now and event to ensure customers understand the plans
No change from 2019 except the covid status checks
The process is same for everyone: Check covid free status, ID check, full bag search, ticket scan
Age policy: 14+ only, 15-16-year-olds must be accompanied by over 18-year-old. There is a limit of one under 16 per adult aged 18-20 and a maximum of three under 16s per adult aged 21+.
Dedicated Safeguarding Team – signage and communications/advise to customers plus medical and welfare provisions
The aim is always to reduce the impact off-site while maintaining a good customer experience on-site
Since 2019 we have made changes to audio equipment and to some stage directions
Weather can be a factor in how much those offsite hear the music
Soundchecks will be on Thursday morning and Friday afternoon:
Sometimes it’s louder than it will be on the day to allow the levels to be adjusted and measured off-site to comply with levels
Occasionally this is only perception as it’s an unexpected noise
There is a new Campsite entrance to the east side of the site = changes in traffic routing and balance of impact
The no re-entry policy for campers isn’t expected to result in any difference to traffic as campers who usually leave the site during the event do so to go to the shops on foot
Shuttle bus capacity has increased significantly this year and we have a new operator who is very experienced
The reasoning and process that went into an undertaking to close Dereham Road on Saturday and Sunday night. Basically, it is necessary for public safety as 8000-day tickets need to leave the event on Saturday and Sunday night however she provided a lot more detail about this on the call.
Sending cars through Easton: this only takes place on Saturday and Sunday night for limited cars for day ticket guests only (it was approx. 500 in 2019), we need to do this due to all this for public safety but more broadly there are lots of reasons explained pertaining to the Dereham Road closure and general management of the egress.
We increase the provision for external litter picking last year in response to community feedback. We have increased it again, not because we had more feedback but because we felt we could do better.
Police advised that they will have an ability to react to vehicle ASB and people sleeping in cars and will have a policing presence outside the event footprint.
The event also has the ability to respond.
We urge people to use the resident hotline to report these issues as we (the organisers) sit next to the Police in the Event Control.
