Cllr Peter McCarter
Cllr Ben Moye
Ben joined the Parish Council at our January 2021
Ben has lived in Easton all his life and has undertaken part-time work at Easton College around his studies for the last 6 years. He obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Geography and Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Birmingham in 2020 and is now studying for a Masters Degree in Spatial Planning at University College London.
Ben is hoping to use some of the knowledge from his University education to assist the Parish Council as and where he can. He wishes to give back to the community he grew up in and ensure housing needs are sustainably met while representing the interests of our younger villagers.
Cllr David Lewis
In 1998 David retrained at the UEA to become a Mental Health Nurse working in the community. David has worked with large organisations like the City Council in securing and maintaining housing needs and promoting mental well being in the community.
David has since retired and after losing his beloved partner of 35 years in 2018 to Lung Cancer, feels he has the free time to give back to the community. He is keen to ensure Lower Easton remains part of the wider Easton community.
Cllr Peter Milliken
Peter is a decorated war veteran and retired teacher. He is passionate about disability rights and protecting our village from overdevelopment. He has lived in the village for over 28 years and has watched his 4 children grow up and flourish in our village.
Peter has worked all over the world and tries to use his experience to help others, he cares greatly about the environment and wants to make sure everything possible is done to protect the local wildlife, trees and hedgerows from the developer's bulldozers.
He has a lasting belief in democracy and the rights of the people to have a say in how they are governed at a local level. Peter is looking forward during his term in office to help and support the village in the difficult decisions that need to be made in the years ahead.
Cllr Des Fulcher
Des moved from Norwich to Easton in November 2023. Before living in Norwich Des had a home in Long Stratton for over 15 years, where until recent mergers with Broadland the main offices of South Norfolk District Council were situated.
Des became self-employed towards the end of 2008 after a successful career in sales spanning over 25 years; currently, he undertakes voluntary work with charitable organisations and owns a professionally licensed firework display company, plus has interests in a retail firework outlet at Tasburgh.
Des has held elected positions including District and Parish Councillor for Long Stratton and Tharston & Hapton between 2013 and 2020, this involved working closely with Wacton Parish Council, helping their Woodland Project kick start with his member ward grant. There were other ongoing challenges in Long Stratton and Tharston, not least keeping a close eye on the proposed mass development and bypass for Long Stratton and Tharston.
Des has held voluntary elected and appointed positions with a variety of charitable and not-for-profit organisations; most notable is the Round Table and its associated 41 Club which he was elected National Councillor for Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire in the summer of 2014.
Des has taken the lead in major charitable events locally, beneficiaries include East Anglian Air Ambulance, Marie Curie Cancer Care, East Anglian Children’s Hospice, Catton Park Trust, and more.
